![]() ![]() The dragon reared up and unleashed a torrent of fire towards her. The dragon opened its jaws to reveal razor sharp teeth and let out a bellowing roar which shook Nergüi to her core yet it only served to spark the smouldering kindling in her heart. It blew smoke at her as a warning but still she approached, enamoured by the grand being. The dragon caught wind of her presence, landing close to the eastern mountains and finally giving Nergüi a moment to catch her breath. Her lungs burned as she ran without respite, scrambling over the rocky outcrops as quickly as she could. ![]() Captivated, Nergüi sprinted around the man, sparing the boy one last glance as she bounded over the rocks to give chase to the dragon and ignoring the shouts of the man behind her. What a beautiful creature! Never had she seen such a beast. Looking up they saw a large dragon with crimson scales sailing over them. “You are not from my tribe-” As he reached to seize her the sun was blocked out and a strong wind washed over them, threatening to pull her off the ground. “You there!” Nergüi jolted and realised the man was marching towards her with a most furious frown upon his brow. His golden eyes matched the stripes of gold in his hair. “A true warrior never drops his weapon!” The young boy quickly scrambled to his feet, reaching for his own axe, though he stopped and glanced up in her direction. “Again, to your feet!” he snapped, slamming the end of the axe into the ground and making the pebbles around it jump. She heard shouting and the clang of steel, and peering from behind the structure she saw a young Au-Ra being sent flying to the ground by a far taller man wielding a giant stone like axe. One day during the summer of her 11th year she left the scheduled spot in the mountains and ventured toward the Dawn Throne, admiring the stone ruins that protruded from the luscious grass. Oft would she sneak out of the hut and away from the training grounds, shirking the heavy cowl to let her vibrant orange locks flow in the breeze as she wandered the vast land of the Azim Steppe, taking note of the different plants and flowers, and the creatures that shared the land with them. Though as she grew, it became apparent she had no interest in the teachings of the reapers. On the 26th sun of the 2nd Umbal Moon day was Nergüi Arulaq born, her eye's limbal rings shining as bright as the moon that hung high in the sky.Īs per the tribe's traditions, she was garbed in thick black clothes with a heavy cowl and with the other first born was raised from birth to bear the reaper's legacy. All first borns of the Arulaq tribe were destined to walk the path of the reapers serving to protect the tribe and guide their souls back to the earth. ![]()
